Collection: Grythyttan

Founded in 1931 in the Swedish village of the same name, Grythyttan has been making outdoor furniture for longer than most of its imitators have existed. The classic pieces — the A2 armchair, Chair 1, the round teak tables — were designed by Yngve Ekström in the 1940s and remain in production unchanged. Not because Grythyttan is sentimental, but because the proportions were right the first time.

The materials are honest: untreated teak that weathers to silver, hot-galvanized steel that doesn't ask for attention. Nothing is powder-coated over a weakness. The construction is built for Scandinavian winters and long Swedish summers alike.
