Grythyttan's A2 is the chair that made Swedish outdoor furniture worth taking seriously. Designed in 1942 by Yngve Ekström and still built to the same standard, it earns its place not through nostalgia but through the kind of structural logic that doesn't date.

The seat and back are solid untreated teak — left to weather naturally to silver-grey over time, or maintained with oil if you prefer warmth. The base is hot-galvanized steel: unglamorous, indestructible, and honest about what outdoor furniture is actually up against.
