The two vessels Red White ase and Big White Pot can certainly be described as modern classics. Both are the result of Hella Jongerius' extensive study of historic vessels: the Dutch designer drew inspiration from medieval pottery, casting the Red White Vase and the Big White Pot from the molds of restored vases and pots. The rough casting seams and traditional potter's thumbprint evoke the essence of antique craftsmanship, while their bold, solid forms speak to modern industrial production.
